Abstractions From Nature

I paint with resin and beeswax. Formally trained as a scientist, I leverage my advanced degrees in Invertebrate Zoology and Marine Ecology to inform my point of view. The majority of my work references natural phenomena such as fossilization, mineralization, growth, cellular movement and the ocean. I often incorporate natural fibers into the artwork which gives them a sculptural look. The natural world is the common thread that unites my work.  I experience joy when my love of science and art intersect.
